Got to go and they were very efficient and the food was all ready! They're located in the same plaza as Uwjimaya. I got their small chasu pork ( very dry today and little meat :( ) and their small curry bowl. The curry bowl was like usual. Hearty and warm in the cooler months. I saw on their door though that yakitori might be coming in February 2025 at their Portland location! So kind of excited about that since we don't really have yakitori here. Hopefully it'll come to Beaverton too!
Ramen Ryoma is such a fun place to dine at. We love how it's attached to a Japanese grocery store so you're able to shop while on the waitlist. The food comes out super fast as well, so the wait isn't too long. The ambiance of the place is a vibe! The last time I went, I tried their vegan noodles and it was alright! I definitely preferred the usual noodles for texture and taste, but my stomach appreciated the GF option. Would definitely visit again!
Price: great Ramen broth : delicious Noodles: pretty good Chicken curry: not bad at all, my brother is the curry expert and he said it tasty. They have sake and beer so that's a plus. I've been here a few times and enjoyed every time
I shop at Uwajimaya but never ate here because of the wait. Finally happened to get done shopping when they opened at 11AM and was seated right away. Got the deluxe with shoyu for $16.20 and here is how it scored: Presentation: 5/5 pretty much the classic Ramen noodles: 5/5 really nice chew and slurp Shoyu Broth: 3/5 good but not as complex as the best Ajitama: perfectly executed 5/5 Pork: cold, dry and tough, probably because they just opened but sad 2/5 Service: pretty good 4/5 Value: 4/5 unfortunately inflation has hit ramen and a bowl is over $20 at some venues. It was a mixed bag for me but will definitely eat here again. For PDX, it's in the top 3.
Solid ramen spot! Today's rainy day craving was ramen - obviously. So we decided to try out a new spot, Ramen Ryoma. Upon arrival there was a bit of a wait but we just had to put our name on the tablet and the front and wait for our table. We only had to wait around 5 minutes so pretty fast considering how busy it was. After ordering we waited less than 10 minutes to get everything we had ordered. I went with my go-to, a spicy miso ramen. The broth was flavorful and warm with just the right amount of spice. The pork was super tender and had great flavor. This place puts spicy umami meat on their ramen which I hadn't tried before. It was good but would probably skip on it next time. I also tried the Chashu Bowl, solid plate.
Gluten free review: This ramen joint is a place you need to go visit! They have some of my absolute favorite gluten-free Ramen. Seriously, if you're on the hunt for a comforting bowl of ramen that'll make your taste buds jump with joy, you gotta check this place out! Like I said they have gluten-free! Let me tell you about these gluten-free noodles, they're like ninjas disguised as regular noodles! You won't even notice the absence of gluten. I went for the vegetarian ramen, and my partner went all-in for the Tamago Mayu Ramen. Both were so yum! The veggie ramen came with a ramen egg and a single brussel sprout. It's like a warm, cozy hug. I cannot do spice (allergy) and they had not a hint of spice, which was perfect for me! You could taste a delicious ginger. This deserves a standing ovation five out of five. Now, the Tamago Mayu Ramen, was a porky delight! Served with a ramen egg, it was also a 5 out of 5 stars, no doubt about it! Don't forget the hot tea. It's so delicious, it's like a punchline that leaves you wanting more! So, if you ever find yourself strolling through Beaverton, Oregon, be sure to swing by this joint! But hey, make sure to hit up Uwajimaya for some shopping first. You won't regret it. Gotta get that Post- ramen therapy after shopping. Hope this brings a smile to your face! Cheers to good food!! (I believe the vegetarian bowl is dairy free but please double check first)
Some of the chewiest, bounciest ramen I have ever had. They do a good job with their noodle texture to retain the springiness even sitting in hot broth!
We had an incredible dining experience at Ramen Ryoma, which now ranks among my favorite ramen spots in the Portland area. My go-to order is the Chashu ramen with Shoyu broth, plus a pat of butter for extra richness. The service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere feels genuinely authentic and inviting--thanks in part to the shared building with a Japanese grocery store. Pro tip: Arrive a bit early to explore the aisles of Uwajimaya, the neighboring Japanese market, either before or after your meal. It's the perfect spot to pick up authentic Japanese snacks or treats to enjoy for dessert!
Spicy Ramen Ryoma is fantastic! I had the tonkotsu ramen, and the broth was rich and flavorful, with perfectly cooked noodles and tender pork. The garlic edamame was incredible. Service was fast and friendly, even though the place was busy. The atmosphere is cozy with modern Japanese touches, and it didn't feel cramped despite the smaller space. Overall, great food, excellent service, and a lively, welcoming vibe. Highly recommend!
The environment was nice as it felt like some Japanese ramen stores. At the front, there was an ipad where you sign up so it was convenient. Staff: They were super busy but all they did was serve. I don't need them to check on me all the time but had a little bit of a rushed feeling except the owner. Food: I ordered the black tonkotsu ramen with an egg and bean sprouts. The egg was almost fully cooked but luckily it was still a tad runny in the middle but I wish it was more runny. The prices were very reasonable compared to other places in the area. One reason why it was a 5 star was because I saw right underneath the area where they were filling and serving water and tea. They kept coming and going next to me and always worried about the cups of water. I know it's a bit crowded but maybe don't have that area as a seat because they sometimes place used bowls and cups in that area too. It's just one seat, leaving that spot blank may be more sanitary.
